Using Google Scholar From Home

  1. Visit the Faculty & Staff Research Information area and click on Google Scholar or use this Google Scholar link.
  2. Click on Scholar Preferences

  1. Scroll down to Library Links and type LaGuardia.
  2. Put a check in the box next to LaGuardia Community College Library (Fulltext at LaGuardia).
    NOTE: You can also use this screen to specify a Bibliographic Manager, like RefWorks.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save Preferences.
  4. Google Scholar is now set up for the computer you are using. If you use more than one computer, repeat these steps for each machine or browser.

Finding a Journal By Title

Sometimes you find an article via Google Scholar, but it is not full-text. The steps below will help you find a specific article from a specific journal.

  1. Click the Find articles & books online (subscription databases) link on our home page.
  2. Click Find a specific journal or magazine

  1. Type the title of the journal.
  2. You will then see which databases contain your title.
