Library Group Study Room Policies

  • Group Study Rooms are for use by students enrolled at LaGuardia Community College. Please visit the Media Help Desk to access the rooms. Please note: ACE students must show their LaGuardia ACE student ID, either the physical card or in the app, and reserve rooms directly at the Media Help Desk.
  • The rooms are intended only for collaborative student study and/or presentation practice. They are not for socializing.
  • The rooms can be reserved only during the Library’s operating hours.
  • The maximum is 5 (five) with the exception of room J where the maximum capacity is 6 (six).
  • Students may request use of a room on a walk-up basis only if the room has no active reservation. The walk-up users must vacate the room when requested by a student with proof of reservation.
  • Please refrain from inappropriate behavior or activities in the rooms as you would anywhere on campus in accordance with CUNY’s Code of Conduct. Students who fail to comply are subject to the disciplinary process and sanctions.
  • Please do not disconnect or alter any technology in the rooms, and do not move chairs or furniture in or out of the rooms.
  • Proof of registration is required. Please print or have electronic access to your room reservation confirmation email. The reserving student must be present to show proof of registration at any time during your reserved time slot.
  • A reservation is forfeited after 15 minutes.
  • Please respect your fellow students; keep noise to a minimum and leave the group study room clean.
  • No food or uncovered beverages in the rooms.
  • The Library is not responsible for personal belongings left in the rooms.
  • The keyboard and mouse for the computer in each room is available. Please ask for it at the Media Help Desk.
