Turn on the National Jukebox

The Library of Congress is working on streaming a treasure trove of historcial sound recordings online via its National Jukebox. They have been digitizing Victor Talking Machine Company 78s from between 1901 and 1925. Included is an interactive edition of the 1919 Victrola Book of the Opera. It is hoped that this material will shed insight both into the development of American music and changing cultural norms. (via Wired Campus)
